Carla Naydan is an ASHA certified and licensed speech-language pathologist with 23 years experience. She received her undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland, College Park and earned her Master's Degree from Loyola University, Baltimore, Maryland in 1999.
She started her career working in a daycare with medically fragile children in Delaware. After that, she joined the Child and Support Program of Kennedy Krieger Institute providing services to children all around the Baltimore Metropolitan area from ages 0-21 with a team of amazing social workers, occupational therapists, and physical therapists. In 2011, She started working for the Baltimore County Public School system as her own children entered the school system. She spent 11 years focusing on services in self-contained classrooms working with a team of special educators, occupational therapists, BCBAs, Social Emotional Learning Teachers, and IEP team chairs. During this time, she worked in her clinical area of interests of Autism and AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), using evidence-based treatment protocols to treat students and provide training to staff and family.
Training over the years have included: PROMPT training, PECS (picture Exchange Communication System), LAMP (Language through Motor Planning). Additional training includes earning the Sensory Certificate for SLPs and Gestalt Language Processing and Natural Language Acquisition.
Carla and her husband reside in nearby Perry Hall with their two teenagers, two dogs and cat. In her free time, Carla enjoys painting and hiking and spending time with her kids as they participate in their schools music and arts programs for band and theater. Carla is looking forward to meeting and working with the families of Graceful Speech Language Therapy to build better communication!
